South Sioux City sits directly across the Missouri River from its larger Iowa namesake, connected by the Combination Bridge and by a genuinely shared daily life - plenty of residents work on one side of the river and live on the other, and the two cities function as a single metro area despite the state line running through the water between them. The Nebraska side has its own identity too, anchored by the riverfront Betty Strong Encounter Center and the Missouri River Trail that draws walkers and cyclists along the water.
We run routes through South Sioux City's residential streets close to the river as well as the newer subdivisions further from downtown Sioux City's pull. Homes here see the same Missouri River valley weather pattern as the Iowa side - dense cottonwood and elm canopy along the older streets, open prairie exposure further out, and the same sharp fall and spring freeze-thaw swings that drive ice-dam risk on both sides of the river.
Because South Sioux City is only about 3 miles from downtown Sioux City, it's a full stop on our regular weekly route, not a special trip across state lines. Some homeowners here assume a Nebraska address means a different company or a longer wait than their Iowa neighbors get - it doesn't. Same crew, same pricing, same schedule.
